In this universe, which was created by a divine, organizing intelligence, there are simply no accidents.

From The Power Of Intention Perpetual Flip Calendar: A Calendar To Use Year After Year

This was today’s calendar entry and I definitely subscribe to this idea! It’s a controversial idea at best.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and it’s all for our greater good; even when we don’t have a clue how or why.

This is one area my husband and I truly disagree on. He’s of the belief that things are beyond our control and bad things just happen for no real reason and don’t have a purpose.

I respectively disagree…

The Power of the Lesson

I’m convinced that everything that comes into your life comes to you to teach you a lesson. If you’re open to the lesson and desire to learn from it, then any obstacle or problem can turn into a blessing.

Avoiding Victimitis

Using my husband as an example… He keeps repeating the same patterns over and over and is blind to the lesson.

In doing so, he continues to get similar results and has a hard time figuring out why he can’t move forward.

In refusing to accept the lessons and learn from them, he’s developed the victim role quite well.

He believes “That stuff may work for other people but not for me. I’ve tried it all.”

I’ve found that over the years I’ve bought into the victim role quite well. I was the master.

    For years I:
  • read the books
  • listened to recordings
  • attended seminars
  • played “follow the guru”
  • spent a butt load of money

    And yet I:

  • still struggled emotionally
  • still struggled financially
  • still struggled in relationships
  • still had no spiritual grounding
  • had no life direction
  • Something had to give…

    A Better Way

After reading over and over about learning the lesson, I guess I heard it enough that the final way I heard it finally stuck. It hit me. That was it!

    Everything IS A LESSON!

It’s simply up to us to decipher it and learn from it.

      Three Simple Steps
    • 1.) Believe in the lesson.
    • 2.) Be open to recognizing the lesson.
    • 3.) USE the lesson to move forward in life.

In the beginning, this is easier said than done, I’m afraid…

What lessons have you ignored over the years?

What similar disempowering patterns have you noticed that keep developing? (psst… that’s a HUGE clue!)

Do you find you keep getting what you don’t want?

Have you even thought about what you DO want?

It’s so much easier to move toward living a fulfilled life when you focus on what you really want. Most people don’t take the time to even think about it; yet they complain that what they have isn’t what they want.

    Insanity at its finest…

Here’s a great way I’ve found to narrow it down:

  • Think of something you think you want.
  • Write it down.
  • Think of why you want it.
  • Write those reasons down.
  • Think of what feelings the thing will give you if you have or achieve it.
  • Write the feelings down.
  • Think, “What else?”
  • Write down anything that comes up for you.
  • Keep doing this until you find the real reasons you want something.
  • Once you’ve figured that out, find a way to feel those feelings right now.

I was simply amazed at how this exercise brought such clarity into my life. Clarity I had previously lacked.

Try it for yourself and see if it helps you discover how to move forward in your own life.
