This weekend we had a nice evening of culture with a Wine tasting lecture by Aleš Špetič.
One of the famous Swiss things is of course chocolate. Their Sprügli candy and sweets is well known around here and it is the best. More known in our parts is Lindt chocolate which has a factory in the greater Zürich. If I figure out when they have tours I will probably go and see their production, or at least just to test out all the different chocolate.
But back to Sprügli, there are at least 3 shops in town and Mirae recommended it is a very good way to spend your money. And you can actually spend all of it as you just can’t decide what to get. One thing they are advertising are Luxemburgerli which are actually small burgers. Two parts of reeealy soft dough and a cream filling.
I just thought eh another kind of candy and sweets, they can’t really be that different. But its just sooo good that I can’t believe it can be made. The thing just melts in your mouth. Really soft and delicious flavor of the thing. Brilliant. Now all I can tell is that Swiss are really one of the finest makers of chocolate and sweet things around. If you can, you just have to try them. Luxemburgerli, or anything from Sprügli for that matter.
Only shortly arriving into Switzerland I found representatives of all the teams of Euro 2008. What luck and they were actually posing so I could take a picture. Taken at the Hauptbahnhof Zurich.
So the week is almost around and I can probably officially say that I am working for Zemanta now. Redrawing and redesigning things and sites and helping to fix other visual elements. As to not be bored or when you want some company of someone to play with or bother, a Pleo dinosaur is there to help you.
You have to be careful how you approach him as he loves to play and growl. If you look away he quickly gets your Wacom pen and starts chewing on it. Pat him on the head or back and he starts to purr. Like a small cat, cuddly and everything, but with an off button. Oh and it gets sick also, last week he was coughing and sneezing, luckily you can’t catch anything from him. Exploring and bothering people is something he likes to do.
Oh and you should not leave him alone with a dog in the room, you never know who will be left standing.
To continue from the previous post. I also visited Tate Modern, which has a new exhibition on: Street & Studio: An Urban History of Photography. On the outside walls of Tate Modern there is also something to see. This are giant Graffiti which cover the whole height of Tate Modern and are just awesome to see. One of the artists is also BluBlu (the last one, with the head intersected, run by people), which released Muto - A wall painted animation a few weeks back, it is definitely worth checking out.
I was up in London yesterday doing a lot of walking around again, well London is big and so you do a lot more of walking also on account of that. But anyway I was walking down the Embankment on the South Bank and passed the Telectroscope, which is a secret tunnel that connects New York and London. I didn’t stay long, just a bit to see people waving to people on the other side and to notice the sign which read: It’s a 1hour wait from this point on. Well I was not going to stand in a cue for an hour, so I went further on. Some images of Telectroscope beneath.
So the first outcome for my project is complete. The Elephant Factory story is finished and it looks like this:
Today’s morning started quite normal. Get up from bed around 10 as I needed to be at Uni around 11 o’clock. What was a surprise was opening the door of my room and seeing a cat in the hall looking at my door. I was startled, what, where, who, what is a cat doing inside the house. After a bit of scratching it ended up on my bed and I picked it up and put it back down. It followed me and Katja around a house for a bit and we gave it some milk, but it wasn’t too fond of cookies. Oh well, a shame for him. Still I named him Kit Kat. Later in the day the landlord threw the cat out, so we don’t have a little furry friend anymore.
As you probably know I am making a Papier-mâché Elephant as a part of my Major Project. The elephant itself is done now, but it needs a name. So I am asking you to help me find a name for him.
He is white, bright and remembers everything. In size he is 33×22inches or around 80×50cm. Probably bigger and nicer then your dog.
